Most Unfortunate person
John Buckner Jeremy Guarini Vladimir Putin’s opponents who “ran” against him. Elon Musk has now entered the list of history’s worst losers. The CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter holds the record for the most loss of personal fortune according to the Guinness Book of World Records. According to Forbes, Musk’s wealth has decreased by $182 billion in the past year or so.
Musk reached a fortune high of almost $320 billion in November 2021, making him the richest person on earth. However, the majority of that came from Tesla shares, which saw a sharp decline in value in 2022. His acquisition of Twitter in October 2022 for $44 billion, which he paid for with some of his Tesla shares, also had a significant negative impact on his financial position.
The title of world’s richest person was awarded to Bernard Arnault of the LVMH Group, which owns luxury brands including Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Sephora, in December after Musk’s losses knocked him off the top of the Forbes list. Other billionaires faced significant losses in 2022, when tech markets took a beating, according to Forbes. Mark Zuckerberg lost $77 billion in value, while Jeff Bezos lost $85 billion.
Masayoshi Son, CEO of Softbank, formerly held the global record for the largest personal wealth loss, having lost almost $59 billion in the 2000 dot-com meltdown. Son is now listed as the No. 67 billionaire on Forbes’ list.
